In 2025, Plane reached new heights with major updates to our platform to make your global growth simpler than ever, all backed by our continued commitment to best-in-class support for you, your contractors, and employees. We released 2,224 updates to the platform and wrapped up the year with a refreshed layout that brings a smoother Plane experience.

Here are some more highlights from a year that really took flight.

Clean, unified document management

We released a new documents experience that brings all documents — company-wide and for individual team members — into one unified view with quick click filters, new menu options, inline previews, and more, making it easier to manage and track all your documents in one secure place.

Manage benefits & deductions for U.S. employees

Admins can now add and manage U.S. employee benefits in Plane, making it faster to keep payroll accurate and up to date. Set up medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plans, and more. In addition, you can manage other post-tax deductions, such as loan repayments and charitable contributions.

Easily log time with time tracking

We added the ability for contractors and employees to log time in Plane in a new Time tracking section, making it simple to stay compliant. This release included the ability for admins to enter time on behalf of their team members, for added flexibility in managing work hours.

Smarter and faster bank account flow

In August, we launched an improved bank account experience with clearer guidance and better sequencing of country-specific fields. The new flow handles more variations in local formats and makes it easier to enter the right details, reducing mistakes and saving time.

Enhanced sign-in flow and sign in with Google

Signing in to Plane is now easier than it’s ever been, with added security. We updated how you log in to Plane with a guided sign-in flow, active security monitoring, and an organization chooser for users who are part of more than one organization. In addition, you can now sign in using your Google account, for a quick and simpler way to access Plane.

Refreshed layout with easier navigation and responsiveness

We refreshed Plane’s layout to make navigation smoother and introduce responsive updates. Users now enjoy a much better experience on smaller screens, less clutter, and several refinements that make Plane easier to use.

Plane out and about

We had team meetups around the world, in London, Miami, New York, Montana, and more. A few of us got to volunteer together to help pack Thanksgiving meals for delivery at the Missoula Food Bank & Community Center in Montana. Teams also gathered in London for good food and camaraderie.

Kamil co-organized a Ruby + AI hackathon at Sentry headquarters in San Francisco and also took time to meet up with Filip (formerly Plane's Business Ops Manager, now CEO of invoice ops startup Sunbay.io — congrats, Filip!) in the Bay Area.
